REACP: WAIC Gathering, Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 pm
7 people gathered to learn more about one another and discuss actions we can take to build a community where everyone feels they belong.
Eat, Drink, and Belong 2026!
Eat, Drink, and Belong 2026 is the name one of the people gave to our pop-up food truck + beer court event that we’re hoping to launch in late summer or early fall, so we’re running with it for now. As you can see in the images below, we talked through our goals - hold a temporary event and get an actual development underway in 2026, our role in each, and the following priority actions:

Insurance
Permits
Key site factors: power supply, bathrooms, parking, etc.
Money to support event: planning, marketing, etc.
Each person who attended put their name forward to work on a task.

We’re planning to hold an online check-in meeting before the end of May to report back on what each person learned working on their step. We need help with:
We need help securing a location. If you know the people who own the vacant movie theater property or the former Albertsons property, please let us know!
We need people who have event planning experience. Since this is a collection of volunteers putting this together, we need to know what we don’t know to make sure we have it in place.
We need help with any and all of the tasks.

WAIC Update
Jason Smith, our beloved Treasurer, has had to step down due to personal reasons. Our thoughts and hearts go out to him and his family during this time.
We are in need of a Treasurer. If you can step up or know of someone who can, please reach out to us.
Heather, Sarah, and Garet shared about our work with the Charitable Partnership Fund to update our system on how we work together. Also, we’re working on setting up a non-profit account through Gmail and an online donation platform.
Our next WAIC gathering is planned for July 1st. We meet bi-monthly, on the first Wednesday of the month.
