RECAP: WAIC Gathering, Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 pm
Recap
10 days ago, five people gathered to discuss Iran, since one of the members was born and raised there, as well as public art, poetry, and actions WAIC should pursue in 2026. We reviewed a longer list of ideas developed by the group last year. What stuck out to us most was the excellent question Heather posed: What do we want people to remember WAIC for in 2026?
Supporting people to host neighborhood BBQs
Teaming with Oregon Humanities for community conversations
Teaming with others for community-building initiatives like a temporary beach on the Willamette River or a pop-up food truck court with kids' activities
If you are interested in making any of these things happen, please reach out to us at connect@wilsonvillealliance.org.
Since we last met in November, the WAIC leadership team has been working behind the scenes to update and refresh our organization's operations, including finances, communications, and coordination with the Charitable Partnership Fund. We gave a progress update on this work at the meeting.
Next gathering
We now have a set meeting schedule and location! We are meeting bi-monthly, the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm at the same location, Mt. Hood Room in the Parks and Recreation Building in Town Center Park. The WAIC events webpage has updated information for May, July, September, and November gatherings.
We hope to see you soon!
