At each WAIC meeting, we have attendees share upcoming events. This message covers a few events mentioned at our last meeting.
Metro Future Vision Event
Metro is in the middle of a 50-year visioning exercise to help the greater Portland region community become ready for its future. Ideally, this is a future we create together based on our inspirations, building on the history, capacity, and potential of our region. Otherwise, it will be a future imposed on us by others and events. The most important group participating in this exercise is the youth! They will live most of their productive adult lives during these fifty years. Metro's Future Vision Youth Commission has organized a free, all-day event at Portland State University on August 15 and invites all youth ages 14-24 to come, have a good time, and help envision the region's future.

Gear Up 4 School provides backpacks and school supplies to help students walk into their classrooms feeling prepared, valued, and ready to learn. Whether you're looking for a little extra support or simply want to make sure your child has what they need for a successful year, we'd love to serve your family.
